STATEMENT

Unity has been an integral part of our game development journey. Over the past year and a half, we've invested our time, creativity, and resources into crafting our first game using the Unity Game Engine. We made this choice with great enthusiasm, drawn by the exceptional resources the platform provides and the vibrant community that we've come to cherish.

Unity has always stood for accessibility and unwavering support for developers, regardless of their size or resources. It's a cornerstone of what has made Unity so exceptional in the industry.

However, these changes appear to challenge the very essence of Unity's inclusive spirit, and they could potentially introduce unwelcome obstacles for developers, particularly smaller indie studios like Mortal Void Studios.

We firmly believe in the importance of a thriving, inclusive, and diverse game development community, and we fear that these changes might inadvertently undermine these principles.

Equally disconcerting is the glaring lack of communication and transparency surrounding these changes, which Mortal Void Studios takes to the nth degree in our own business practices. Many of us learned about these developments without any prior notice or a clear explanation.

We understand that making such significant decisions is not easy, and we acknowledge that you have your reasons for the choices you've made. However, we cannot ignore the impact this will have on end users like us.

As we move forward, we will be deliberating on our next steps regarding the use of the Unity Game Engine for our games.

We sincerely hope that Unity Technologies will reconsider its strategy and

prioritize the interests of the Unity Community.
